Days 4 to 6 on our epic tractor ride!

The road from Magaliesburg to Randfontein then on to Carltonville was 6 bumps and a pothole for every meter travelled…..🙃

We had a stop over in Randfontein at Mahindra and it was an absolute splendid experience and very well organised. I enjoyed the stop at Mahindra Randfontein a lot. Thank you folks!!

I arrived Parys in the Free state Friday afternoon and had to do some emergency repairs in the main road of Parys on our signboard that was shaken loose. A Gentleman by the name of Gawie, promptly welded the signboards back together again, in the road….. Thank you Gawie!!

Departing in 1 degree temperature to Welkom on Saturday I was made to feel very Welcome in Welkom and was met and escorted from my lodgings at the Rhino rest guest lodge by tractors and the widows sons motorcyclist group, to the Tsogo Sun hotel for a function in honour of Pediatric Care Africa organised by my niece Mandy Pieters and Dulcie Harris.

I felt like a proper VIP when I was allowed to park my tractor and trailer right in front of the main entrance of the Casino. I think normally only real VIP’s are dropped off there?

After the function which I enjoyed a lot, we were invited to eat at the Ocean Basket Welkom by the owner Arrie and once again the tractor received VIP treatment and was parked where no other tractor has ever parked!

Woke up to – 4 degrees on Sunday morning and being in a touristy mood we visited two amazing motorbike collections and lunched on Chinese food.

Freezing weather is predicted for the next few days.
