Medical outreach Brondal Saturday 12 June 2021
Medical Outreach
On Saturday we had a medical outreach at the Brondal informal settlement about 22km outside of Nelspruit, where mothers were invited to bring their children to be seen by a group of volunteers Doctors and Specialists.
Dozens of children was attended to and with medicine in hand, each mother received a blanket, a bag full of goodies such as reusable nappies, clothing vitamins, rice and 3 bags of A+ porridge.
We also handed out Mandela baby blankets (organised by Marilyn Herson Bassin and 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day Boikanyo, The Dion Herson Foundation) to each child that was attended to by our volunteer Doctors, OT,s, Nurses and so on.
A total of 59 patients were seen and received their medicines as prescribed by the attending Doctors.
We wish to specially thank all the Doctors and other volunteers for giving up your Saturday to attend to children that requires medical assistance, and off course to SPAR Lowveld DC in Nelspruit who donated the very welcome rice and A+ porridge that each child and Mother received and last but not least PEP South Africa who donated R5000-00 worth of reusable nappies to us.
One child was diagnosed with Cerebral palsy and was referred to Hospital, and we at Pediatric care Africa will ensure that he receives a buggy when bigger and food and medical treatment on an ongoing basis.
Thank you for helping our children!
