Medical Outreach Klaarstroom 23 August 2025 – 82 patients and high winds
82 patients and high winds!
We held a medical outreach on Saturday the 23rd August at the Primary school in Klaarstroom in the Great Karoo region of the Western Cape.
A group of volunteers consisting of Dr Anso Killian a Dispensing Doctor, nursing Susters, personnel of the Executive Mayor in Oudtshoorn’s office who run the kitchen like a Swiss clock handing out lunch, blankets, beanies and clothing to all the patients attending the outreach and volunteers who took care of the mountain of administration and other tasks that needed to be done.
The Executive mayor’s office of Oudtshoorn, donated and made the most beautiful “sweetie” packets and beanies for all the kids and the SANDF Oudtshoorn donated fruit and cooldrinks.
We were very grateful that we were allowed by the acting headmaster to use the schools kitchen and offices instead of our usual Gazebos etc as the wind was howling non-stop.
The medical outreach was a true community effort resulting in 82 patients receiving free medical treatment and medication.
One patient was referred to Hospital for urgent medical treatment and the Ambulance service of Prince Albert was called to assist her, and they rendered an absolutely fantastic service that was Professional, fast and very efficient. Well done to you!
Amazing what a few volunteers can accomplish to make a true difference in someone else’s life.
We salute you and thank you.
