“Ride for a child” route, dates, and roads to be travelled.

Our 7th annual motor bike ride charity event: Saturday 7th February 2026 to Sunday 1st March 2026

Purpose: The 2026 “Ride for a Child” 7000km Charity motorbike ride around South Africa is to render assistance to the large ever-growing number of children in South Africa that have very limited, to zero access to professional medical care and surgeries.

Our continuous fundraising efforts enable us to pay for the medical expenses and surgeries of underprivileged children as Doctor’s don’t save life’s, money does Our annual ride for a child charity motorcycle ride have contributed greatly and made it possible for us to arrange over 200 surgeries for children and helped us to render medical assistance to just under 8000 people since our inception in 2017.

Due to the closure of USAID and its various programs we took on the daunting challenge of a “Malaria prevention program” along the Limpopo River and areas along the Kruger National Park that was previously assisted by USAID to combat the very real thread of Malaria. Malaria is a very preventable but fatally dangerous disease and very young children are especially in danger of dying from Malaria.

In the spring and summer of 2025/2026 starting in September 2025, we aim to distribute no less than 2000 malaria preventative care packs to the most vulnerable persons in remote areas of Mpumalanga and Limpopo in South Africa.

A malaria prevention care packet consists of the following:

  1. 6 months’ supply for a family of 6 persons with a mosquito repellent to put on the physical body containing DEET (diethyltoluamide)
  2. Chemically treated Bell shape mosquito netting for over beds x 3
  3. “Permethrin” for chemical treatment of clothing, mosquito nets, tents, sleeping bags and other fabrics to repel mosquitos. (2 litres)
  4. Educational booklet with illustrations for illiterate persons x 1

We do not provide chemoprophylaxis such as Atovaquone-proguanil, Doxycycline or Mefloquine etc. to persons, due to the very high risk of parents leaving the medications within reach of small children, misunderstanding the dosage and allergic reactions.

The cost per malaria preventative care pack is R 1 580-00 each, excluding distribution

It is entirely up to every individual person or Motor cycle Club/group to decide on how to help us raise funds for children’s surgeries and medical treatment during this ride should you find ours a worthy cause.
