Buggies and a changed life!
Buggies and a changed life!
We received a very valuable and much needed donation of 4 Buggies for severely disabled children, such as children suffering from Cerebral Palsy.
Marilyn Bassin (Boikanyo, The Dion Herson Foundation) gifted us with 4 buggies and lots of Madiba blankets (67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day) for children in the Lowveld, and StepMed in Nelspruit kindly lend us the use of their offices so that Marilyn can fit the recipient of the buggy, as it is very important that a child fit perfectly in his buggy to avoid pressure sores and other complications.
Each buggy is made to measure and on order.
A child’s life and perception changes dramatically once he no longer just lay on the floor, and he can actually see the world from a sitting position and become part of his family and community.
Each child received a brand new colourful blanket as well to cover their legs with in the coming winter.
Marilyn and all the persons that came with from Johannesburg to help fit the buggies at Stepmed, Thank you very much as you have helped to permanently change a helpless child’s life and in my book that is awesome.
As we find children throughout Mpumalanga that requires buggies due to severe and debilitating illness, we will definitely endeavour to help them as well as every child deserves nothing less.
Marilyn and Stepmed we salute and thank you as you are superheroes to the children lucky enough to receive a buggy.
