Successful mayor surgery!!

To date, this was one of the largest and most complex surgeries Pediatric Care Africa has been involved in. This little boy was born with Hirschsprung’s disease and received major complex abdominal surgery today, that will greatly improve his quality of life!

Only three years old, he was super brave and held on to a handmade teddy we gave him for dear life. This young man takes his teddy very serious…….!

Dr Elliot Motloung, a well-known pediatric surgeon and the head of the Paediatric surgery department at Rob Ferreira and at Kiaat private Hospital had to “import” 2 surgical colleagues to assist with the surgery, who flew in especially from Durban.

Dr Hansie Mangray and Dr Sanele Madziba renowned Pediatric surgeons from Pietermaritzburg, thank you very much for flying all the way to Nelspruit, specially to help our little boy receive his surgery. You are heroes to us.

The entire team at the Paediatric surgical ward was amazing and worked as a well oiled team to ensure our boy is very well taken care off, after all it takes a village to raise one child and an angel to nurse one back to health.
