Thanks to Keystone Milling from Hazyview, who donated 300 1kg bags of maize meal to us, and vegetables from Pick and Save fresh produce in White River, we were able to pack food parcels to be delivered to individual families this week.
We have a number of different food parcel package sizes, ranging from 6 person families to single persons.
Due to Covid-19 Lockdown we can only utilize a very small number of volunteers to help us pack food parcels, as to guarantee their safety, social distancing and our compliance with the law. Packing parcel after parcel on our garage floor they moved a mountain of food all neatly packed, sealed and labelled.
I was exhausted just watching them pack…!
To our very generous donors and hardworking volunteers, you and you alone make it possible for us to help people in distress during this difficult time.
I salute you all!
