Wheelchair and food delivered!
This young boy receives special food from us every month and today he was blessed with a wheelchair that was donated to him by Kevin Gelderbloem, a member of Steelwings Lowveld motor bike club.
Our boy was spoiled today with food, sweeties, soft toys and a offer from a benefactor for a buggy for him.
During our visit to him, we learned that his Dad has taken ill and our boy was looked after by his 14 year old sister, as the Mom has left a couple of years earlier.
On checking on the Dad, it was very clear that he was not doing well at all and we hastily turned our SUV into a “patient transporter” and took the dad to the Emergency rooms at Rob Ferreira Hospital where he was admitted.
We asked their neighbour to keep a close eye on our boy and his 14 year old sister as there is no other adult available and we will visit them on a daily basis if at all possible.
Later in the day we had time to deliver a few hundred kilogram of food to Katoen including 120kg of chicken, 60doz eggs, 100 kg of e’Pap donated by Rotary Club of White River and so on. Bon Appetit…!!
To get back to our boy suffering from severe CP, I mentioned that he receives food from us every month and that is made possible by GB2C who selflessly assist us every month even though they themselves are having a difficult time due to Covid 19 lockdown.
GIVING BACK 2 our COMMUNITY (GB2C) was started by Crossing Shopping Centre Nelspruit during the centre’s 16th Birthday in October last year. Several local businesses form part of GB2C including BUCO Hardware.Buildware, Nelspruit, Caltex/Omar Family, Mica Nelspruit, Crossing SuperSpar Nelspruit and the Visagie Groep amongst others.
Hectic week and we wish the Dad a speedy recovery.
